UAE considers expat pension schemes
Pension schemes could soon be available for expat workers in the UAE, following a study that recommends replacing traditional end-of-service gratuity schemes with a savings investment fund. A copy of the study has been obtained by local newspaper Gulf News, which say it was recently presented to the UAE government.
The study says establishing a pension scheme, which includes both private and public-sector expat employees, will have a "positive impact socially and economically on all parties of the production cycle and stimulate the national economy".
